The development journey started with hands-on concrete work for a multi-million-dollar entrepreneur developer on Waiheke Island, where precision, presentation, and high expectations were non-negotiable. That early exposure to premium builds set the standard — every detail mattered. Those foundations shaped not only practical skills, but a mindset focused on doing things properly.

From there, the work scaled. JM Homes went on to collaborate with large development corporations throughout Queenstown and Central Otago, contributing to complex residential and infrastructure projects in some of New Zealand’s most demanding terrain. Working alongside established developers provided insight into large-scale planning, compliance, and the realities of building in alpine environments. It was here that the importance of strong groundworks, smart design, and long-term durability became so very important.

But somewhere along the way, a problem became clear. Too many developments were repeating the same designs — identical houses stamped across hillsides with little consideration for the land, the climate, or the people who would live in them. JM Homes was founded on the belief that housing can be better. More practical. More site-specific. More considered. And ultimately, more beautiful.
